Communiting to and from work, or just for fun, it's vital to get proper
training to prepare you for what awaits you out on the road.
The first part of your course is Compulsory Basic Training
(the C.B.T.)
This is a full day course at M.S.M. and it is conducted on a motorcycle
no larger than a 125cc.
Once you have learned the controls and you have got used to handling
a motorcycle, your instructor will accompany you out on the road for
a minimum of 2 hours. Providing everything goes well, you will be
issued with your C.B.T. certificate (DL196).
Before you are allowed to take the Practical Riding or Driving Test,
you have to pass a theory test.

study with us in a classroom environment or we can guide you and advise
you on what to study at home. We can supply the Theory Test Book and
sample examination questions. If that's not already enough you can

You have no excuses!
Before each section of your training your instructor will explain
fully what you will be doing and what is expected of you. A further
briefing at the end of the ride will help to develop your technique.
No matter which route you take to your full licence, the next part
of your training will teach you skills to cope with today's road conditions,
and how to ride defensively.
Your road rides will include further training on roundabouts, road
junctions, traffic lights and other everyday hazards. You will be
taught safe overtaking, U turns and emergency stops.

The test involves riding a route followed by your examiner and
completing various exercises. After thirty minutes or so, it's
back to the test centre.
Then there's a couple of questions and that's it.
Congratulations!
All the training has paid off and you have passed your test.
You're now free to experience the thrills and excitement of
two wheels.
